At home and play

Well she sure does know how to adapt well. Therin Front (aka Oreo) is doing great at night and seems quite comfy in her pen. You would think we put a little something extra in her water!

She really is a quite calm and pleasant girl as you can see from her inspection and pedicure she doesn't mind being handled and poked.

When it comes to play time, she LOVES all of the squeaky toys! We have one T-Rex that has a sound box inside that seems to get her really excited. She really has been a lot of fun to play with.

Overall she was been a wonderful dog in these first few days and is great with the kids. And about that whole "cat intolerant" thing, I think she is digesting them just fine! :-)

First day!

Therin Front (aka Oreo) has had her first day in a real home after 140 races. Wow, what a career!

She rode home beautifully and was ready to meet her new foster family. It was a scorcher outside for a black dog but she and Casper got to meet each other in the yard and are getting along just fine. She is continually exploring the house and looking out all of the windows to see the world. Within a couple of hours, she was already going up and down stairs on her own. What a smart girl! She even found the bathroom mirror and seemed fascinated with herself.

We expected the usual whimpering the first night, but amazingly enough, she stayed in her pen all night without a peep. Can't get any better than that for a first day.

She has been wonderful with the kids and especially seems to be attracted to the younger ones. She loves the attention and has taken the few treats offered very gently.
