It must have been because I am such a good girl. I'm doing my very best to obey the rules. One thing I'm learning is that when Dad leaves the house, he comes right back. There's no reason to get upset. That's a relief. Her previous owner loved her but couldn't keep her so she is in foster care until we find her <em>real</em> forever home.<br /><br />Oreo loves to follow her foster dad around and is very affectionate. They go for walks together three times a day. Oreo does get a little crazy over the many squirrels busy burying their nuts, so Dad has to keep a tight leash when these critters are nearby. They just look like tasty little tidbits.<br /><br />This city-livin' pup is a real people magnet. Everyone loves to stop and pet Oreo and she adores the attention. We have one T-Rex that has a sound box inside that seems to get her really excited. She really has been a lot of fun to play with.<br /></p><br /><br /><br /><br /><p><br />Overall she was been a wonderful dog in these first few days and is great with the kids. Wow, what a career!<br /><br />She rode home beautifully and was ready to meet her new foster family. It was a scorcher outside for a black dog but she and Casper got to meet each other in the yard and are getting along just fine. She is continually exploring the house and looking out all of the windows to see the world. Within a couple of hours, she was already going up and down stairs on her own. What a smart girl! She even found the bathroom mirror and seemed fascinated with herself.<br /><br />We expected the usual whimpering the first night, but amazingly enough, she stayed in her pen all night without a peep. Can't get any better than that for a first day.<br /><br />She has been wonderful with the kids and especially seems to be attracted to the younger ones. She looks like a little bear coming out of her winter den, and growing her spring wardrobe. She is black, but has spots that are dark brown on her sides, like natural highlights! She is very sweet, and got along very well with the other dogs. She enjoyed grazing in the run and prancing around, but also walked very well on a leash.
